Museum of the Mari Fairy Tales“Silver-toothed Pampalche”

The Museum of the Mari Fairy Tales is an interesting cultural site thatdemonstrates the Mari national folklore and especially the oral folk arts, namely the fairy tales. It is named after the most famous Mari fairy-tale protagonist - Silver-toothed Pampalche.

The museum is located in an old building being the house of the merchant Naumov. It is a kind of portal to a fairy tale. The guests enter the wonderful world of stories and fairy-tale characters. Moreover, they can even be the fairy-tale characters themselves. You can try on the real armor and weapons, play through the interactive quests and quizzes, attend the workshopsin the field of folk crafts, watch the cartoon lessons of the Mari language and take memorable photos in the photo zones.

Workshops:

  • production of leather bracelets;
  • production of medieval purses;
  • weaving: modern, with a reed frame, with the planks.

The museum opened in Yoshkar-Ola in 2019, has already gained favor with the residents and guests of the city.
