Nikolay Vasilyevich Gogol

Nikolay Vasilyevich Gogol is a classic of Russian literature,writer, playwright, publicist and critic. The most important works of Gogol are the collection "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka", dedicated to the customs and traditions of the Ukrainian people, as well as the greatest poem "Dead Souls",where the author glorified Yoshkar-Ola. The city appears under its old name - Tsarevokokshaysk. Not every county townis honored to get into the work of the great classic. Tsarevokokshaysk was only the county center of the Kazan province at that time.

The monument was erected on November 4, 2012.
