Pushkin and Onegin

"Eugene Onegin" written in 1823-1830 is a novel in verse by the Russian writer and poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. It is one of the most significant works of Russian literature. The narration is conducted on behalf of the nameless author, who introduced himself as a good friend of Onegin.

“…Without a foreword's interference,

May I present, as we set sail,

Onegin, my good friend and brother…”

The writer treats his hero with a share of irony, but without condemnation or malicious mockery. He does not offer Onegin life lessons,he does not give an advice. The position of the observer is convenient and comfortable for him.

And now the author and his protagonist are in silent dialogue on the embankment. One of the eight most famous monuments to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin is installedin Yoshkar-Ola.

The sculptural composition was erected on August 31, 2011
