Opened in 2007, Obolensky-Nogotkov Square was named after Ivan Andreevich Obolensky-Nogotkov, the first governor of the Tsar's city on the Kokshaga River (this is how our city was called for a long period). Near the governor sitting on a horse, there is a half-sized copy of the Tsar Cannon. Admirer of figurative art can visit the National Art Gallery here, reminiscent of the Doge's Palace. Not far from the square you can find Yoshkin Cat resting on a bench.
