Nikonov Square

 Nikonov Square is located in the central part of the capital of the Mari ElRepublic–the city of Yoshkar-Ola. In 1999, the square was named after Viktor Petrovich Nikonov in honor of the Soviet statesman, who led the republic from 1967 to 1979. Thus, his merits in the organization of housing and industrial construction were noted. The Academic Russian Drama Theater named after Konstantinov, built in 1984, is located on the square.
