TheVirgin Mary with the Christ Child

The sculptural composition was opened on November 30, 2007 on Republic Square of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the eve of the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary Entry into the Church. It is part of the temple ensemble.

The sculpture was created according to all the traditions of the Russian Orthodox School. It is a two-figure composition - the Mother of God blessing the people of Mari El with the Christ child in her arms. The image of the Mother of God with theChrist Child is identical to the icon of the Sovereign Mother of God, but the sculpture the Mother of God does not have a scepter, an orb and a crown.

The author of the sculpture is Andrey Kovalchuk, Russian people's artist. The height of the sculpture is about 3 meters.
