Lorenzo di Piero de Medici went down in history of Italy under the name of the Magnificent.It explains the important role that this outstanding statesman played in the economic, political and cultural life of the country.

A talented manager, a skilled diplomat, a generous philanthropist, a patron of representatives of art and science of the Renaissance. All these are different incarnations of the Florentine uncrowned ruler, who managed to turn the republic into a prosperous region and the center of European civilization during his time in power.

The sculpture to the statesman of the Renaissance, which was completely built at the expense of patrons,wasinstalled in Italian Park and intended to become a symbol of the revival of the Mari El Republic.

The monument was erected on September 21, 2012.

The sculptor is Kovalchuk Andrey Nikolaevich.
