Cyril and Methodius

Cyril and Methodius are saints, equal to the apostles, Slavic enlighteners, creators of the Slavic alphabet, preachers of Christianity, the first translators of liturgical books from Greek into Slavonic. Cyril and Methodius laid the foundation for Slavic writing and literature.

The monument is a two-figure composition. In the foreground you can see Cyril and Methodius. Cyril has a scroll with the letters of the first Cyrillic alphabet in his hands. Methodius has the Gospel. An Orthodox cross rises between the saints.

The sculptural composition was erected on November 1, 2014 in front of the Museum of Orthodoxy.
