National Art Gallery

One of the most significant events of the year took place on November 4, 2007 in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of the Republic of Mari El. It was opening of the National Art Gallery.

From the very first days of construction, the gallery building began to draw attention of the citizens with its scale and unusual architecture: red bricks, columns, a clock on the tower, facade decoration. The European Renaissance architecture is easily recognized in all these elements.

The gallery interior is well-thought-out. Upon entering the building, the visitors immediately feel a certain solemnity: marble stairs, fresh flowers in the flowerpots, unusual lamps. The exhibition halls of the gallery are equipped with the up-to-date alarm systems, climate control equipment, fire extinguishing and lighting systems.

The gallery demonstrates the paintings, Mari embroidery, national costumes, jewelry from the collection of the Republican Museum of Fine Arts.

The permanent exhibition is titled “A path one hundred years long”.

Working hours:Wed-Sun: 10:00 a.m. – 06:00 p.m.; Mon, Tur – days off.
